ABOUT EMPARCH

Emparch is an annual conference dedicated to college Toastmaster clubs, which is wholly organised and managed by college students!

This year, we are going “Above and Beyond” as we transcend not only District Borders, but we mount the challenge of reaching out beyond Toastmasters members – yes, to Students who aren’t a part of Toastmasters, along with students who are members of College and Community clubs  across India! YES! We are going PAN INDIA this year!

This is just the beginning of Emparch 3.0!

This is a quick fire contest which will entertain, engage, and educate – Where learning is accompanied by lots of fun. It is a quick rapid-fire slide aided presentation

HUMOROUS SPEECH CONTEST

A 5 to 7 minutes humorous speech which should be thematic in nature (opening,body and close) and not a series of one liners (monologue).

Most frequent questions and answers

Yes! Emparch is an event by District 92, Toastmasters International, brought to you by college students belonging to College Toastmasters Club. Toastmasters International qualify contestants above 18 years of age. The same applies here as well. So as long as you are a UG, PG, Ph.D., etc student, and above 18 years, you are eligible to participate!

The whole concept of Emparch 3.0, Above and Beyond, is to reach out to you. This time we are transcending to Non-Toastmasters Students, and those Toastmasters students who are a part of community clubs. We are having workshops and webinars that would help out with the contests. As long as you are a qualifying student, interested in participating for Emparch, you can

We are glad that you took an interest in participation. We understand that this is your major concern. To address the same, we have various workshops and webinars planned. Also being the host District, if at all you require guidance and mentoring to the contest, we have our members of the District ready to help you out. The list of workshops is as follows

  • How to add humour to your speech?
  • How to present yourself in an online meeting?
  • How Toastmasters is helpful in building your career?

The District would have priorly informed your respective colleges. However, as per the College rules and regulations, if such permission is required, please do take. We won’t be responsible if the same exemption is misutilized.

We love your enthusiasm. Just that we are seeking for more participation. This being an online and individual event, participation is restricted to only one contest. So go ahead and choose that in which your niche is strong.

Ooops. Sorry. Won’t let that happen. These sessions are for your benefit. We would love to see you go up the stage. Withdrawal post-registration for the contest is strictly not allowed.

Yes, we understand that you might be more interested in attending the webinars and workshops. You could just register for that. However, we are looking forward to your participation in the contest as well!

Yes, you can. Hope that the workshops got you geared up for the contest. Registrations are closed by Sept 30th for contesting. However, if you have previously registered for the webinar/workshop and now want to participate, you can do so. Do reach out to your College ambassadors or Team Emparch for the registration.

The Presentation Mastery contest has a cap of 20 slides for the presentation. You may opt for a lesser number of slides, but the same should be accommodated within the 5-7 mins slot and auto-timed accordingly. As per the rules, it is 15 seconds per slide.

No. Speech is to be given live with the ppt slide-show. It can’t be a pre-recorded speech. The speech is accompanied by the ppt.

Both the contests, Humorous Speech Contest, and Presentation Mastery are for 5-7 mins. Time of 30 seconds grace is given to wrap up. Beyond that would amount to disqualification of the contestant.

The language to be used for the speech and the presentation is English. Strict compliance of usage of parliamentary language is to be adhered to. Also, the rules of talking responsibly about sex, religion, or politics shall be applicable.

Emparch is a College event brought to you by the students members of College Toastmasters Club. This time we open to College Toastmasters Club, Non-Toastmasters Colleges, and College Students who are a part of the Community Toastmasters Club. The two contests are Humorous Speech Contest and Presentation Mastery.

The finale is set to be conducted on 31st Jan 2021. Club-level contests and District Zonals will be conducted in the months of Oct, Nov, Dec 2020. Workshops and Webinars are scheduled for the month of Sept 2020. Specific details shall be intimated accordingly

The dress code for participants is formals- Indian or Western.
